Antigua, Guatemala is a charming and quaint city surrounded by volcanoes. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site and was the former capital of the country. The town is filled with brightly coloured Spanish colonial architecture, the food is great and diverse and the people are warm and friendly. It’s also a great place to acclimatize before hiking Acatenango Volcano which is located a couple of hours away. Make sure you visit this hidden gem when you’re in Guatemala.
