Getting the most out of your summer

For some, summer is a time to relax and refuel. But it’s also a time to get things done especially those things you’ve put off during busy season. Summer is a perfect time to revisit the goals you’ve established earlier this year and figure out what you need to do right now to reach them. Don’t lean back, in fact, lean in closer to achieving your goals.

Here are some things you can do this summer to keep you in the game:

Revisit your goals. Track your results to see how far you’ve come. If you’re on track, pat yourself on the back. If you’re not there yet, don’t give up. Reassess, adjust and develop an action plan that will position you for success. Don’t give up. You still have five months left to achieve your goals.

Get out there and network. Join professional groups, attend summer socials or grab a coffee with an old acquaintance. This is a great time to meet new people or reconnect with old ones.

Read! Pick up a book, any book and just read. Consider picking something up you typically don’t read. You might just learn something new.

Get organized. Set aside one hour every week to go through your files. Purge the ones you don’t need and sort through the ones you do. By setting aside a regular time in your calendar you’ll be able to chip away at those colossal tasks. When September comes around, you’ll be ready to go.

Start new projects. Is there a project that is nagging away at you that you wish you could do? The time is now. Take the reigns and work on a project that you’ve been putting off. This is a great opportunity to work on creative tasks that require more thinking time.

What are you doing this summer to keep you in the game?
