Montreal-based line setting its eyes on Toronto

Montreal-based line, Filthy Haanz recently showed their spring/summer 2015 resort collection in Toronto. Like other Montreal-based brands, including Rudsak and Mackage, Filthy Haanz is hoping to capture the interest of Toronto consumers, specifically the young professional crowd who work hard and play harder.

Notable.ca, an online resource for Canadian young professionals and entrepreneurs, hosted the exclusive media preview on January 14 to a full room of bloggers and fashionistas.

Bold and explosive colours define Filthy Haanz latest collection. Their pieces included splashes of fuchsia, chartreuse, azure and lemon with a sharp contrast of crisp white linens and cottons. It’s playful and sexy charm was seen throughout, including the swimsuits, skirts and dresses for the women and tees, capris and blazers for the men. The collection featured pieces that you could wear poolside at a high end resort in Miami, Rio de Janeiro or Cabo.

I briefly chatted with the Creative Director, Wilber Tellez who explained, “the line is inspired by Bollywood Graffiti- which incorporates the glamour from Bollywood and combines it with edgy graffiti art.”

The collection was a breathe of warm, ocean air. Warning to those who lack confidence or detest bright colours. This collection is not for the faint of heart—especially the men’s line. Check out filthyhaanz.com for more details.

Thank you Notable.ca for supporting the Canadian fashion scene and inviting me to this great event!
