The wild and untamed Patagonia

Patagonia is the southern most part of South America and refers to an area that includes Chile and Argentina. There are six national parks in Patagonia. I visited the Argentinian side where I hiked 22 km to Mount Fitz Roy, rock climbed over 950 meters above sea level to Cagliero Glacier and viewed the majestic Perito Moreno Glacier which measures 30 km long and 5 km high. The landscape is majestic and surreal but unforgiving. If you love hiking, adventure and incredible landscapes I highly recommend this part of South America.

FUN FACT: My favourite book growing up was The Little Prince by Antoine Saint Exupery. One of the mountain spears in Patagonia, the Aguja Saint Exupery, is named after him. What’s the connection? French-born Saint Exupéry arrived in Argentina in late 1929[1] and founded the Aeroposta Argentina. It was the first aviation company in the country which provided postal flights to Patagonia. #bringitJeopardy
